About Us

Malu Tours started off as an idea and has become a reality.

The Idea

For a long time we (Mat and Luke) wanted to start our own tours and bring back quality and quantity for the backpacker market. After many discussions and phone calls and Luke moving back to Australia it all finally came about when one of our good mates (Forrest) said stop talking about it and just do it. So Malu started rolling on.The first idea was to design a trip between Sydney and Byron Bay. Which we did but found it to be a very hard sell without a reputation to go on, so it was back to the drawing board. We came up with 2 day trips out of Sydney to the Hunter Valley and the Blue Mountains.

The Reality

Malu tours now operates 7 days a week combining the Blue Mountains 5 days (mon tues wed fri sat) and the Hunter Valley 2 days (Thursday and Sunday). We offer a great back packer experience with quality information and the best value for money tours on the market. We are totally backpacker and 'the young at heart' orientated so all on the bus can enjoy the experience we have to offer with like minded travellers. Our tours are all inclusive so the price may seem a little higher but there are no hidden or additional costs along the way (well except maybe a coffee or snacks that you want).
